Thursday November 13th 8am to 5pm: (Optional attendance with separate registration fee, pending funding confirmation) Workshop with IncDev Alliance

Join Neil Heller and Elizabeth Ward Williams with IncDev Alliance for an all-day workshop experience hosted at Gather. Topics to include power of the incremental approach, business models and skill sets, right sizing your project, building arts 101, market research and site selection, zoning, project pro formas, financing a project, buying a property.

Thursday November 13th – 5pm to 7:30pm: Kick-off Reception at Humble Roots

Join us on the outskirts of downtown Fairbanks at Humble Roots for local refreshments, food, and socialization.

Friday November 14th – 8am to 7:30pm: Conference Events at the Wedgewood Resort

Friday’s programming will begin with an opening breakfast and keynote address by Mike Sfraga, UAF Interim Chancellor and former Arctic Ambassador, setting the stage for the day’s activities and discussions. Attendees will then have the choice between technical sessions to earn LU/HSW credits, or can partake in a guided walking tour of downtown Fairbanks that will showcase commercial and residential sites that will inform design charrette exercises. The afternoon will include interactive workshop sessions, or a continuation of technical sessions for learning unit credits. Late afternoon and early evening feature opportunities for drive by jury awards voting, networking, and cocktail hour. The day concludes with a dinner keynote from Norwegian architect, Stein Halvorsen of Stein Halvorsen Arkitekter in Oslo.

Saturday November 15th – 8am to 7:30pm: Conference Events at the Wedgewood Resort

Saturday’s programming opens with a breakfast keynote by Todd Ferry of Portland State University’s Center for Public Interest Design, setting an engaging tone for the day. Attendees will then embark through a selection of technical session offerings, including presentations from, but not limited to, Wayne Jensen, Nima Farzadnia, and Ezra Gutschow. The midday program features a lunch keynote from Simon Taylor of Taylor Architecture Group. The afternoon continues with dynamic technical sessions eligible for learning unit credits. Speakers will include Janet Smith, Jason Swift, Connor Scher, Jason Collins, Erik Dukes, and many others. Evening activities include a chance to network and refresh, followed by a cocktail hour. The day culminates in the Design Awards Dinner with a keynote speakers, and closes with a tentatively scheduled Eames Chair Auction, blending professional recognition with community celebration.
